Service cookies
Export Reader uses first-party cookies and browser storage for sign-in, security and the features you choose. We do not load advertising pixels or third-party analytics. These service functions do not use an optional-tracking consent banner.
EXPORTREADER_SESSION is the sign-in and CSRF/security session cookie. It is HttpOnly, Secure on production HTTPS and SameSite=Lax to support returning from Google sign-in. The cookie lasts one hour; signed-in activity refreshes the server inactivity timer. Server cleanup follows the hosting configuration. An older PHPSESSID cookie may remain from public pages using the previous session setup; you can remove it in browser settings.
Your chosen preferences and tools
Local storage remembers appearance (er_theme) and dismissed help messages. Session storage keeps the Ask AI conversation in the current tab. Other feature preferences may be remembered by your browser. These values support the display or feature you requested; they are not advertising identifiers. They remain until you clear browser storage unless the feature uses tab/session storage, which ends with that browser session.
Signing out ends the server sign-in session. Clear this site's browser storage as well on a shared device to remove stored preferences and Ask AI tab history. Browser storage is device-specific and clearing it does not delete your uploaded archive.
External services and your choices
Google sign-in and Stripe-hosted checkout/account management operate on their own sites, with their own cookies and policies. Some tools request third-party JavaScript libraries or public images; those requests disclose technical connection information such as IP address. Archive Markdown libraries are served locally. See the privacy policy for providers and purposes.
You can remove or block cookies and local/session storage through your browser. Blocking the session cookie prevents sign-in and protected actions. Use a private browser session on shared devices and keep your own archive backup.
